Lesson Study-Das Spiel/ The Game

How can we introduce the concept of Lesson Study to educators in a way that is collaborative, enjoyable, motivating and also informative? In response to this question, our research group from the University of Potsdam developed a board game that mimics a Lesson Study process. The game aims to support educators in developing their knowledge about Lesson Study as well as their collaboration, reflection, and observation skills prior to participating in Lesson Study themselves. “Lesson Study – The Game” is based on a real Lesson Study process and can be completed by three to six players in about two hours, with or without the assistance of an external facilitator.
