The Conference Program

The online conference organisers are very grateful to the Hong Kong/Macau 2021 team for all their work in preparing for the 2021 conference which very sadly had to be cancelled due to the pandemic. This planning has, however, shaped what we are sure will be a very interesting and exciting program for this online event.

The program, including sharing of local and international lesson and learning studies, keynotes and invited plenaries, research symposia, roundtable sessions, lesson study sharecases and posters is currently being developed, so please bookmark this page so that you can keep up to date with developments. We will also use social media and newsletters to provide updates.

The program will encompass live and recorded presentations with opportunities to engage online in question and answer sessions with presenters and invited lesson and learning study experts.

Managing Time Differences

WALS 2021 online will run on the 29th Nov, 3oth Nov, 1st Dec and 2nd Dec with sessions running each day in three different ‘time zones’ so that everyone around the world can participate each day in their ‘after work/evening’ time. In addition, each day one time zone will take a lead presenting a keynote speech and an invited plenary session. The Central, East, South Asia, and Australasia will lead on the 29th; Europe, Africa, and the Middle East will lead on the 30th and the ‘Americas’ will lead on the 1st December . Attendees will be able to view live and recorded sessions on each of the days wherever they are in the world.  We are at the early stages of planning an exciting opening of the conference from Hong Kong/Macau. All live sessions will be recorded and available from the conference website and so you won’t miss any event!
