Learning Study Immersion Programme

 2-3 Dec 2021

The WALS International Conference 2021 will bring to you a unique 2-day Learning study Immersion Programme in Hong Kong on 2-3 December after the Main Conference in Macau. In this Immersion Programme, you will receive intensive training that can deepen your understanding of Learning Study, as well as on how to deploy Variation theory as a theoretical lens for understanding teaching and learning in action. Besides, you will also have a chance to visit a school in Hong Kong to experience how Learning Study is conducted in an authentic context.

Overview of the Programme

On 2 Dec, you will have a Learning Study workshop in the morning at The Education University in Hong Kong, Tai Po campus. In the afternoon, you will have chance to observe a regular lesson in a Hong Kong School. The teacher will apply Variation theory in designing the lesson. There will also be chance for a collegial sharing with the teacher.

On 3 Dec, we will bring you to a school to observe a Learning Study research lesson and participate in a post-lesson conference. You will have an opportunity to apply the conceptual lens which you have learnt from the Learning Study workshop to analyse the lesson, as well as to give feedback on the research lesson in the post-lesson discussion.
