Ceilidh (Barn Dance)

On Sunday 4th September, in the evening we will be having a Ceilidh (also known as a Barn Dance in Exeter).  The cost of attending this Ceilidh is included in your standard conference fee. You do not need to book in advance.

We are delighted to announce that our band for the night are  Red Shed  a six-piece Barn Dance / Ceilidh band from Devon playing traditional English and Irish dance tunes with a special twist; a solid backline of bass, drums and electric guitar combine with a frontline of fiddle, sax and whistle for a unique combination of 18th-century barn and 21st-century global influences. They have played Sidmouth, Cornwall and Wimborne Folk Festivals; Guernsey Arts Festival and Cecil Sharpe House in London ... and performed as far afield as Russia.  You can see them in action here.

At a Barn Dance/Ceilidh, the band play music and call instructions to guide the dancers (you!) to perform traditional dances, no experience is necessary.
