Indonesia University of Education (Universitas Pendidikan Indonesia or UPI) takes an engaging approach to education preparing future teachers and scholars in the field of education and their communities. As the country.s most comprehensive, oldest, and biggest Teacher Education Institute (TEI), with more than 1260 faculty members, 7 colleges and school of postgraduate studies, 91 departments, and other institutions, Indonesia University of Education offers more than 90 undergraduate and postgraduate degree programs to more than 38,000 students from all corners of Indonesia and international students from several countries. Through a combination of its three missions on teaching, research, and community service, the University continually endeavors to accomplish its motto and reputation as A Leading and Outstanding University in the field of education. The University, which has been widely acknowledged for its historical and national role as a reference in making educational policy on national level, has been a leader in spreading out and implementing lesson study as a means of teacher professional development and school reform since 2001 through self-initiatives and cooperation with schools, NGOs, local governments, national and international institutions. The University has served more than 40,000 teachers on lesson study around the country since 2001 and has disseminated lesson study issues and research findings in annual conferences since 2008.
