Taxis in Singapore

Over 26,000 air-conditioned cabs ply local roads and provide comfortable, hassle-free travel at a very reasonable cost. They can be flagged down 24 hours a day on most roads, with well-marked taxi-stands available outside most major shopping centres and hotels. At Singapore Changi Airport, the taxi stand is located in the Arrival Hall on Terminals 1, 2, 3 and Budget Terminal.

You may also wish to call for a taxi (approximated waiting time: 5-12 minutes with an additional charge of S$3.50) or arrange for advance booking (additional charge of S$5.50).  Taxi ride from Central Singapore to the conference venue will take approximately between 30 to 40 minutes, subject to traffic conditions.

Trains and Buses in Singapore

Singapore train stations and bus depots are cohesively architecturally designed. The Mass Rapid Transit (MRT) is a rapid transit system that forms the backbone of the railway system in Singapore, spanning the entire city-state. The ez-link card offers a convenient payment option for travels on both trains and buses. Sales of the ez-link card are available at all the Transitlink Ticket Offices located within train stations or bus depots. Bus or train rides are charged by the trip and will be deducted from the credit amount in the ez-link card. Bus or train ride costs between S$1.00 to $2.20, depending on the distance covered.

There is a special Singapore tourist pass which entitles one to unlimited trains and bus rides at a price of S$8/day. Please note that the Singapore tourist pass is available for purchase only at selected MRT Stations: Changi Airport / Orchard / City Hall / Chinatown / Raffles Place / Ang Mo Kio / Harbourfront / Bugis.
